We wanted to visit the ocean one last time before we leave Japan, so we went there the other day and explored a bit. There is a shrine at the top of an island mountain that we walked up to (253 very steep steps; the picture just doesn't do it justice). It's funny how these shrines are just everywhere. It was a really good view and we were the only people up there (turns out everyone else just wanted to play, not hike the beastly stairs) so it was a really neat experience.

Hi! I happened upon your blog and noticed that I have some things in common with you. We are going to Japan in a week, but only for a vacation, and I have a daughter named Kaiya too--Which is a unique name. How interesting! She's an eighth japanese which is part of the reason we named her that.
you can check her out on my blog if you want:

How did you decide to name your Kaiya, Kaiya?
Wow, those look so long! I think I would have been one of the lazy ones too!
When Patrick comes back to the USA will he start shaving again?
